Overview
The Foster Grandparent Program is currently recruiting for new volunteers to serve as mentors and tutors in Multnomah County, Washington County, and Clackamas County! View our flyer here.
Foster Grandparents are volunteers 55 years and older who:
- Want to be a role model and mentor to children with barriers and
- Can pass a criminal background and National Sex Offender check
- Have a limited income
You serve at local organizations, doing activities like:
- Help children learn to read and provide one-on-one tutoring
- Mentor teenagers and young parents
- Care for premature infants or children with disabilities
- Help children who have experienced abuse or neglect
You can stay active and earn a non-taxable stipend by serving as a tutor and mentor to children and youth in your community!. We do the rest by:

- Finding a location and schedule that meets your needs
The Foster Grandparent Program is a national Senior Corps program with the Corporation for National and Community Service
