The Multnomah County Local Public Safety Coordinating Council (LPSCC) is a statutorily created collaboration and is made up of key local public safety partners. The Council is currently co-chaired by Multnomah County Chair Deborah Kafoury and Portland Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty. LPSCC engages in a variety of activities to improve and reform the criminal justice system.
The Executive Committee, which guides the work of multiple subcommittees and workgroups, meets monthly. LPSCC is seeking three community members to participate on the Executive Committee to serve for a two year term. LPSCC wants to ensure these positions represent a wide range of perspectives. Qualifications include:
- Has lived or learned experience with the criminal legal system and/or have an understanding of how the criminal legal system impacts BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) communities
- Has some understanding of criminal legal system policy
- Resides in Multnomah County
Duties require:
- Attending monthly LPSCC meetings
- Serving on LPSCC Subcommittees when appropriate
