TRAFFIC ALERT: This week there will be directional lane closures on the Hawthorne Bridge for ongoing maintenance and paving work. Expect traffic delays.
Westbound lanes: Oct. 9-10
Westbound vehicular lanes on the Hawthorne Bridge will close at 4:00 p.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 9. The westbound vehicular lanes and sidewalk will reopen at 5:00 a.m. the following morning. The westbound lanes will close during the same time frames on Thursday, Oct. 10. Pedestrians will be directed to use the eastbound sidewalk. Cyclists will be directed to a detour. There will be flaggers on the bridge directing traffic.
S.E. Water Avenue ramp
On Friday, Oct. 11, the S.E. Water Avenue ramp will be closed from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
These closures are weather dependent and are subject to change. Plan ahead for your commute and use alternative routes.
