The contractor replacing the deck on the Morrison Bridge lift spans has postponed a one-day closure of the bridge that was scheduled to begin Friday night, August 25.  A one-night closure is now planned between August 30 and September 1 to jack the west leaf of the drawbridge in preparation for installing new parts in the lift mechanism. The closure date will be announced early next week.

In the next few weeks, the contractor will shift traffic lanes from the south to the north side of the bridge, so that the old deck can be removed from the south side of the west leaf. A bridge closure of one to two weeks is planned in late September when concrete is poured for the deck on the west leaf. All six traffic lanes are expected to reopen in October.
