Policy and Constituent Relations Liaison
Camille Buchanan brings a lifelong love of interacting with others to her work at Multnomah County. A native Portlander, Camille attended Grant High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Gerontology--the study of the aging process-- at Western Oregon University.
After holding a variety of positions throughout the Portland Metropolitan area, including working at Willamette National Cemetery, caring for older adults at numerous assisted living facilities and working with Sun School after school programs, Camille came to the county in 2014 and worked as an Administrative Specialist in the Health Department. There, she supported division directors of the department.
After networking with employees across the county, Camille was recruited to work in Chair Deborah Kafoury’s Office as a Constituent Relations Liaison in the spring of 2016.
Working here is a privilege, says Camille.
Her job includes a variety of tasks that involve scheduling for the Chief Operating Officer, welcoming guests to the Chair’s Office and speaking with county constituents who have questions or concerns.
Her love of connecting with others allows her to serve community members well.
“I value people,” she says. “I’m not going to demean anybody. I’ll talk to you, not what you look like or where you came from, but you.”
When she’s not at work, Camille loves to dance and spend time with her family.
