The Urgency Workgroup seeks to create and maintain a sense of urgency in court hearings to safely return children home, in order to shorten children’s length of stay in out of home placements, as measured by the period of time from removal to reunification.
- Develop a series of Oregon Safety Model (OSM) Refresh Practical Skills Trainings for judicial officers, attorneys and other child welfare stakeholders.
- Solicit feedback from judicial officers and the district attorney’s office on the effectiveness of the new jurisdictional report.
- Map procedural roadblocks in the court process and identify strategies to address them.
