On Wednesday, Aug. 6 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. come to the Department of Community Justice’s Londer Learning Center open house in downtown Portland. The Londer Learning Center is the only adult education program in Oregon working exclusively with adults in transition from jail, prison and treatment programs.
The event’s featured speakers include Londer Learning Center graduates in recovery who have discovered the positive power of education.
Additionally, "It’s never too late to learn" posters -- showcasing former Londer Learning Center students who overcame many barriers to become successful college students -- will be unveiled at the event.
Teachers and students will also showcase mini-lessons, with the goal to prove that learning for adults can be fun.
The center hopes to attract and inspire potential students, parole and probation officers and court officials.
The Londer Learning Center is located on the fourth floor of the Mead Building at 421 S.W. 5th Ave..For more information, contact Carole Scholl at firstname.lastname@example.org.
