For more than ten years my family and I have lived in Corbett. I'm the mother of three sons. My oldest recently graduated from college after receiving a dual degree in secondary education from Carroll College in Helena, Montana. He's currently substitute teaching until a full-time teaching position becomes available. My eighth grade son currently attends Corbett Middle School and will be attending Corbett High School in the fall. My youngest son currently attends kindergarten.
The Corbett School District has experienced escalating costs and school funding issues for the past several years. I strongly believe that we need transparency in the midst of challenging economic times ahead. As a school board member, my first of many goals will be to improve communication between the community, superintendent and board. If I am elected to serve by the community, I promise to be an advocate for change to ensure the students of the Corbett School District receive the quality education they deserve.
I believe my 24 years of experience working for the Portland Public School District has prepared me to serve the Corbett community and our most important asset, students.
