COMMITMENT TO THE RIVERDALE COMMUNITY –

I've lived in the Riverdale community with my wife Jill since 1988. We believe in public education and passionately believe in Riverdale schools. Our three sons (ages 20, 17 and 15) have attended Riverdale schools from kindergarten through high school, and received an exceptional education.

As a School Board member, one of my key achievements was developing and implementing a five year strategic financial plan to forecast Riverdale's fiscal picture as best possible in a volatile funding environment. I have been a Budget Committee, Negotiation Committee and Renovation Committee member.

THE DOYLE BUILDING ISSUE –

Opposing candidates are running on a “Save the Doyle Building” platform. After months of input from parents, community members, faculty, and professional experts, building a new grade school has been proven to be the greenest, most fiscally sound, best educational solution given size, topographic and existing building constraints. Riverdale students need more than a School Board with one mission and limited first-hand involvement in both Riverdale schools.

While opponents want to preserve a building, THE THREE INCUMBENT BOARD MEMBERS WANT TO PRESERVE A DISTRICT. Riverdale has two schools, serious annual financial, curricular, managerial and operational needs. Property values depend on a healthy school district. I am dedicated to providing Riverdale students the best possible educational environment.
