Gordon Hovies has been a resident of the area served by TVF&R for over 44 years and is a graduate of the Tigard public school system. Gordon is committed to ensuring that TVF&R continues to provide outstanding service and value. Gordon has over 30 years of fire service experience in both the professional and volunteer ranks. His knowledge, experience, and dedication helps Gordon bring a healthy point of view targeted towards improving existing efforts and attaining identified objectives while looking for fresh and effective ways to add value for the taxpayer. Gordon will bring new ideas to better extend the quality of service to the citizens.

As a resident and your fire board member Gordon will work vigilantly to ensure that Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue:

  • Continues to improve upon Financial Responsibility – Effective use of YOUR tax dollar!
  • Continues to improve upon Staffing Efficiency to Ensure Adequate Personnel at Emergencies
  • Continues to improve upon the Latest Trends in Fire Fighting Technology and Training
  • Continues to improve upon the Master Plan to Ensure that we are Continuing to meet Communities Needs

As a Private Citizen, I've Fought to Make My Voice Heard, And It Has Been.

  • Better Staffing of Fire Apparatus and use of resources
  • Improved Fire Station Location and Response Times
  • Financial Stability and Continuation of the Customer Service Plan
  • Consolidate and Coordinate with other Fire Departments and Municipal Entities to improve service
