Multnomah County Emergency Management, Hood River Emergency Management, and The National Weather Service (NWS) in Portland, invites you to join us for Skywarn Weather Spotter Training!

The NWS Spotter Program is a network of volunteers trained in identifying irregular weather events. These volunteers call into the NWS to report unusual weather conditions where they live.
Reports from the Gorge this winter will be extremely useful for determining conditions on the Eagle Creek Burn Area.

The training will cover:
● Rainfall reporting
● Cloud identification
● Types of severe weather
● Measuring snow and wind
● NWS weather terminology
● Criteria for calling in reports
