Multnomah County is considering rules that would prohibit people from burning wood on fall and winter days that are forecast to have poor air quality.

Wood smoke is a health hazard and the primary source of wintertime air pollution in Multnomah County. The rules are needed to help reduce air pollution and meet federal air quality standards. More about wood smoke pollution»

We are now seeking public comment on these rules and will hold 3 public hearings on the proposed ordinance. We welcome your feedback at one of these events and/or online.
