Lee Girard from Multnomah County Aging, Disability and Veteran's Services Division speaks alongside Commissioner McKeel and Commissioner Smith at the Age Friendly Forum.

According to the Age-Friendly Portland Action Plan put out by the AARP, "The populations of Portland, the state of Oregon, the U.S., and the world are all growing older due to increasing life spans along with rapidly declining birth rates. Before the year 2050, there will be more people over the age of 60 than under the age of 14."

Commissioner Smith joined Commissioner McKeel and Multnomah County staff from the Health Department and the Aging, Disability and Veteran's Services Division to discuss ways to improve services for our aging population, and to make Multnomah County more accessible and inclusive for all our citizens.
