Libraries for Livelihoods is a new program spearheaded by Commissioner Loretta Smith and launched by the Multnomah County Library aimed at connecting residents with the resources they need to help them find employment opportunities during this tough economic climate.
Beginning in early March, job seekers can visit the following library branches to access computers designated exclusively for job hunting and invest the actual time needed to yield a successful job search:
- Central Library, 801 S.W. 10th Ave., Portland
- North Portland Library, 512 N. Killingsworth St., Portland
- Midland Library at 805 S.E. 122nd Ave., Portland
In addition to these job search computers, the library is also offering resume assistance and classes geared towards using social media for job opportunities and networking.
