Bitly redirect link disabled

Portland, Ore. - On Friday, Oct. 19, Multnomah County Elections was notified by voters that they were having difficulty accessing the “Track Your Ballot” website using a lowercase version of a Bitly link included on “Track Your Ballot” fliers received in the mail along with their ballots. The voters, who entered an all lowercase version of bit.ly/MultCoTrackYourBallot, were redirected to a site that is not affiliated with Multnomah County Elections or with the official Multnomah County BallotTrax system. The redirect link has since been disabled by BITLY. Currently, when voters type in the all lowercase Bitly link they will receive a message that the page requested is no longer available.

Voters who wish to track their ballot should continue to use the link in upper and lower case as it is printed: bit.ly/MultCoTrackYourBallot or scan the QR code on the flier to properly sign up for the service.

If voters type in the Bitly link on the card or scan the QR code it will take them to the correct website where they can sign up for text and email notifications for Multnomah County’s ballot tracking service. The ballot tracking service can also be accessed on the Multnomah County Elections website at mcelections.org.

Voters who have questions should call Multnomah County Elections at 503.988.3720 or send email to elections@multco.us
