2017-18 Multnomah Youth Commission: Application Now Available

PLEASE help us get the word out for next year's Multnomah Youth Commission.  We are looking for youth who truly represent the cross-section of demographics, identities, and experiences of ALL young people in our community.  Application information is below.

Please encourage any young person you know who will be between the ages of 13-21 (on August 1, 2017) to apply by May 2nd, 2017 (NEW DATE!). Youth Commissioners serve a one-year term and commit up to 15 hours per month to help support the County & City on issues that impact the lives of their peers.  Youth Commissioners are also in charge of implementing "Our Bill of Rights: Children + Youth," the nation's first Bill of Rights written by and for young people.  The Youth Commission gets things done!  One young person said it this way:

“The MYC has always given me the tools and training to advocate for myself and my community." - Former MYC member

No special skills or experience required; just a passion for making our community a better place. Youth interested in policy, activism, community organizing, or making the community better can apply to be Youth Commissioners. Here is the link to our online application:

We are committed to providing monthly transit passes, and food at meetings. Childcare is also available upon request.
