The Multnomah County Board of Commissioners approved a proclamation on Thursday proclaiming April 10th through April 16th, 2011 as Multnomah County Volunteer Week, and April 14th as a special day of recognition for Multnomah County Volunteers. 

At the meeting, the board members held a poster showing the value of volunteer hours to the County has increased each year over the last five years. During fiscal year 2009-10, volunteers dedicated 138,676 volunteer hours to county programs and projects equaling a value of $3,463,730.
