The hearings give you the chance to provide comments and concerns about the County's proposed budget for the next fiscal year. Strongly consider using this opportunity to provide your opinions to the entire Board of County Commissioners!
County Chair Jeff Cogen released his Executive Budget to the public on May 5th and the Multnomah County Commissioners. This is a proposed budget for the next budget year which runs from July 1, 2011--June 30, 2012. You can review Chair Cogen's proposed budget
Prior to the adoption of the budget, three public hearings will be held in May at which the County Commissioners will take your public comments and testimony about the proposed budget. These public hearings are spread throughout the County and take place on:
- Wednesday, May 18th, from 6:00-8:00pm in the Boardroom at the Multnomah Building. The address is 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd. in Portland. Street and ramp parking are available.
- Wednesday, May 25th, from 6:00-8:00pm in the Sharron Kelly Room at the East County Building. The address is 600 NE 8th Street in Gresham.
- Tuesday, May 31st, from 6:00-8:00pm in the gymnasium at the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO). The address is 10301 NE Glisan Street in Portland.
Testimony is limited to three minutes per person, unless otherwise designated by the Chair. Fill out a testimony form which is available at the back of the hearing room and give it to the Board Clerk. Persons will be called to testify in the order the forms are submitted to the Board Clerk.
