Andrew is a Portland native who grew up in inner North and Northeast. He obtained his Bachelors of Science in psychology and sociology from Tuskegee University, and his Masters of Science in sports psychology from University of Tennessee.
His work in various fields over the past 10 years has allowed him to improve the health of people and communities by creating equitable, healthful, efficient and inclusive spaces now and for the future.
As a health promotion policy specialist, Andrew will lead stakeholders to execute the physical activity strategies for REACH. He will support efforts to:
- Identify policies and strategies to improve community design by connecting safe and accessible places for physical activity
- Disrupt the negative impact of displacement
- Inform land use and transportation policies that increase physical activity and enhance social cohesion to achieve health equity in chronic disease prevention within the African American/Black community.
