Construction of improvements to a section of NE Sandy Boulevard between NE 230th Ave. and NE 238th Ave. in Fairview and Wood Village begin this week. Kodiak Pacific Construction will construct the improvements to Multnomah County’s section of the road.  The project will support urban development in the Sandy corridor.  The project includes:

  • Addition of turn lanes
  • New sidewalks and bike lanes
  • New pavement and drainage improvements
  • Enhancements to existing bus stops

Sandy Boulevard will remain open during the work, with traffic delays at times. Flaggers will direct traffic on a single lane during paving operations and at other times. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses, with brief delays during paving near driveways.

Motorists can use alternate routes such as NE Halsey Blvd., NE Marine Drive, and Interstate 84 to avoid delays.

Weather permitting, the work should be completed by the end of 2017. Construction cost is approximately $1.7 million, with funds coming from the county, Federal Highway Administration and from development fees.

Multnomah County maintains 300 miles of roads and bridges.  For more information, visit www.multco.us/sandy or follow us on Twitter @MultCoRoads.
