  • A hard closure of NW Cornelius Pass Road is in place near NW 8th Ave. where a new culvert is being installed under the road.

  • With the pre-cast concrete culvert already installed, the contractor has built forms and installed steel rebar for concrete wingwalls and a floor apron at the culvert’s outfall. Two concrete pours have been completed and the final one will be next week.

  • Riprap boulders and fishrock will be installed in the streambed near the end of the culvert the first week of September.

  • Roadway work begins after Labor Day as the contractor rebuilds the road above the culvert.

S Curves

  • Contaminated soil has been removed and asphalt was excavated down to subgrade in the section where the road will be realigned to soften the transition between two sharp curves.

  • Aggregate rock was installed for the new road base this week.

  • A bioswale on the downhill side of the road was excavated this week.

  • The first layer of paving will be placed August 24-26, weather permitting.

  • A foundation for steel traffic impact attenuators will be built the first week of September.

  • Work will impact some Cornelius Pass Road neighbors:  Residents who live near Cornelius Pass Road between NW 8th Ave. and the S curves north of Skyline Blvd. may be delayed by paving work in the S curves August 24-26.  Flaggers will direct traffic and one lane will be closed during paving.  Expect delays.

  • Other Road Work:  ODOT’s I-405 Ramp project continues until this fall and may impact trucks on our detour route that uses I-405 and Highway 26.
