Ray Johnson is a 2016 Volunteer Recognition Award winner"Ray Johnson has served two three year terms on the Elders in Action Commission, During his time with the Commission he has served as the Commission’s informal parliamentarian, editor, and time keeper. He has held various positions on the Commission’s leadership committee, chaired the Transportation committee and can be counted on to help out at events ranging from pancake breakfasts to candidates forums.  Ray represented Elders in Action at the Oregon Association of Area Agencies on Aging and Disabilities quarterly meetings where he chaired the Advisory Council group made up of Council representatives from around the state. Ray applied his extensive experience as a Board member for the Oregon Education Association and the Oregon Safe Schools and Communities Coalition to his work with the Commission. His legislative and political skills were particularly beneficial to the Commission’s advocacy work."
