We want older people, and people with disabilities to be actively involved in directing their care. Our program offers people the opportunity to control the selection of a home care worker and arrange for the services they need (Aging, Disability & Veterans Services can help with this). The services that home care workers offer are also available for people who can pay themselves.
The Oregon Home Care Commission has created an online Registry and Referral System to match people who need in-home services with available homecare workers. All of the homecare workers included in the registry have passed criminal background checks and meet other legal requirements.
There are also home care agencies that provide both publicly-funded and private pay services.
