Hawthorne Bridge work to impact traffic

TRAFFIC ALERT: Throughout the next few weeks, there will be several impacts to traffic for ongoing work on the Hawthorne Bridge.

Friday, July 5

On Friday, July 5 at 5 p.m. the north sidewalk on the Hawthorne Bridge will close to pedestrians. The south sidewalk will reopen at that time. The north sidewalk will be closed until Friday, August 30 and there will be signs detouring pedestrians to the south sidewalk during this closure.

Monday, July 8

On Monday, July 8 starting at 6 a.m. one westbound lane will close to all cars and trucks. Cyclists will ride alongside the construction zone with a protected barricade during this closure. There will be a short detour for cyclists once they get to the west side of the bridge. This westbound lane closure will be in place through the end of August. The eastbound center lane will also close during this work and remain closed through the end of August.
