This weekend the Morrison Bridge will temporarily open during its planned closure, to support the Portland Winter Light Festival

Last month, a release listed several weekends in January and February that the bridge would close for greasing and cleaning of bridge gears. The bridge will close Saturday, Feb. 3 at 3:00 a.m. for this scheduled maintenance work. The bridge will temporarily reopen to all motorized vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3 and will close at 3:00 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 4. This will give the community an opportunity to use the bridge to see the lights throughout the city.

Crews will continue maintenance work during the day Sunday and the bridge will reopen to motorized vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists at 6:00 p.m. that evening.

The bridge is also scheduled to close the following weekend and will temporarily reopen to support the light festival as well. The bridge will close Saturday, Feb. 10 at 3:00 a.m. for this scheduled maintenance work. The bridge will temporarily reopen to all motorized vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10 and will close at 3:00 a.m. Sunday, Feb.11. Crews will continue maintenance work during the day Sunday and the bridge will reopen to motorized vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists at 6:00 p.m. that evening.
