TRAFFIC ALERT: Hawthorne Bridge weekend closure CANCELED

TRAFFIC ALERT: This weekend’s closure of the Hawthorne Bridge is canceled due to potential rain and thunderstorms. This particular bridge maintenance will be rescheduled for a later date that has yet to be determined.

***There will, however, be other traffic impacts on the bridge this weekend for the Hawthorne Bridge Paving and Repair Project.

Saturday

On Saturday, Aug. 17 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. eastbound vehicular lanes on the Hawthorne Bridge will be closed for paving. The eastbound sidewalk will remain open, but cyclists and pedestrians should expect potential delays. The ramps from S.W. Naito Parkway and S.E. Water Avenue to the Hawthorne Bridge will remain closed during this time frame. The S.E. Clay Avenue off-ramp will remain closed during this time frame. Westbound lanes and the westbound sidewalk will remain open.
