Commissioner Jessica Vega Pederson will co-host an East County town hall with state Rep. Diego Hernandez to discuss issues facing the community on Sunday, April 30.
The event will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the large conference room at the Midland Library, 805 SE 122nd Ave. in Portland.
Commissioner Vega Pederson will discuss some of the biggest issues facing East County residents including housing instability and homelessness, lack of mental health services, disparities across race and ethnicity and transportation needs. The Commissioner will also talk about the county’s proposed budget.
“Many East County residents have told me about the challenges they face in their neighborhoods and I want to bring us together as a community to talk about these issues, potential solutions and how we move forward together,” Commissioner Vega Pederson said.
Interpreter services or special accommodations can be made in advance online. Refreshments will be provided.
