This is a standalone job profile and is not part of a series. Positions in this job profile perform a variety of administrative duties in support of the daily operations of county motor pool services.

Job description

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  • Monitor circulating motor pool and assigned county parking lot daily activities; coordinate usage of rental cars from outside vendors; schedule staffing; authorize overnight vehicle usage; receive, research and respond to customer and citizen concerns.
  • Work with motor pool and security staff on vehicle dispatch, fueling issues, and other problems that arise; schedule maintenance and repairs with fleet shop and coordinate transportation of vehicles.
  • Review motor pool budget reports; maintain and review revenue and expenditure files, reports and spreadsheets; maintain fuel database to monitor usage and transactions; research discrepancies and recommend payment of monthly billings.
  • Oversee and issue fleet fuel instruments, such as credit cards and chipkeys; gather, maintain and analyze data to prepare statutory and special reports, such as DEQ compliance and gas tax refunds; coordinate and maintain required licenses, permits and affiliations.
  • Develop and revise forms, procedures and methods of record keeping; train and educate on motor pool usage, policies and procedures; process and maintain personnel, payroll, accounting and purchasing information.
  • Coordinate administrative or motor pool related projects with other departments and/or divisions and with outside agencies; represent division on committees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES:

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. Requirements are determined at the time of recruitment based on responsibilities of the individual position and business needs of the department.

Fleet & Support Services Specialist

Training and experience for journey level, administrative support classifications are typically equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade and one (1) to four (4) years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. (Equivalency 1-4 years of qualifying training and/or experience).

Depending upon assignment, candidates may be required to pass a criminal background check, have a valid driver license, and/or additional training, licenses, or certificates.
