Annette has worked with families who have youth impacted by the Juvenile Justice system for 8 years. Prior to that, Annette worked in Corporate America. Through the Community Healing Initiative at POIC, Annette’s role as a Parent Advocate is to support the family as they engage in systems that are unfamiliar to them. Annette uses evidenced based training to empower families through parent support groups, skill building and employment resources.
Annette is a trained Mediator, a Community Health Worker, Peer Support Specialist, and a Certified Recovery Mentor. Annette practices the restorative justice circle to facilitate a conversation between parents and their youth. Annette was born and raised in NE Portland and graduated from Portland State University. Annette is currently working on an advanced degree in Conflict Resolution. Annette remains committed to helping produce the best outcomes for justice impacted youth and families. Annette facilitates Celebrate Recovery groups for women, in her spare time. Annette’s passion is to support women who have experienced domestic violence and alcohol and drug abuse in their background, to live healthy, productive lives.
