On August 26, 2011, Governor Kitzhaber and the Oregon Board of Parole and Post-Prison Supervision announced the appointment of Jeremiah Stromberg to the Parole Board. Prior to the appointment, Jeremiah Stromberg had been serving as a Community Justice Manager with the Department of Community Justice (DCJ). During his 14-year tenure with Multnomah County, Stromberg completed a two-year temporary assignment as Executive Director of the Parole Board.
“The Governor has chosen an individual with a great breadth of knowledge and experience in parole and probation. He will serve the field extremely well,” stated Scott Taylor, Director of DCJ and president of the Oregon Association of Community Corrections Directors.
The Board of Parole and Post-Prison Supervision is responsible for release decisions for offenders in Oregon prisons. Board members are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate to four-year terms.
