Between July 30th and August 4th, DCJ staff participated in National Night Out, along with elected officials and neighbors to express their dedication to keeping Multnomah County neighborhoods safe and unified. National Night Out holds thousands of events across the nation to build positive relationships between the community and their law enforcement, fostering secure and strong communities.
DCJ visited Gresham parks, Peninsula Park, Rosewood Initiative, Alder Elementary School, the South Park Blocks, and Earl Boyles Park this year. They brought bubble wand pens, stickers, glow sticks, and more. Some parks had live performances and food as well. DCJ informed the public of volunteer opportunities within the department, and educated citizens on DCJ’s role in public safety within their community.
