On December 21, 2015, the Family Services Unit (FSU) at the Mead Building once again opened its doors to families for some holiday cheer.
Games, snacks, and candy were in abundance, along with a cookie decorating station, and a visit from Santa. Rojo the Llama showed up at Santa’s side, taking photos with the children, and creating a distraction for the kids while the parents selected presents.
Every year, this event allows parents, who might otherwise be unable to afford gifts, to pick out new gifts for their children. Wrapping paper, ribbons, and tape was provided so parents could not only pick out the gifts, but also wrap and label them for their children.
The FSU staff dedicate time, energy, and love each year to make this event happen. They refer families from their caseloads and spend the event building camaraderie and connecting with their clients and families.
FSU would like to thank all of DCJ for contributing to their toy drive, making this event possible.
