Veronica (Ronnie) Cano (she/her) has been working on research and evaluation for Multnomah County since 2015. Prior to her work in Oregon, she provided research and evaluation services, for nine years, across multiple social service programs in Arizona including but not limited to HIV prevention and intervention, youth pregnancy, adolescent substance use, adult prisoner comorbidity, and youth delinquency. 

Additionally, she has worked on numerous strategic development and performance management processes with internal and external partners, stakeholders, and disenfranchised communities. In addition to her work as a research analyst, she was also an Assistant Professor in the Law and Justice Department at Central Washington University where she taught courses in Research Methods, Community and Social Justice, Ethics and Diversity, and Policy Analysis. 

Ronnie completed her Ph.D. at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. In addition to her doctorate, she holds an M.A. in Social Work from Arizona State University, and two undergraduate degrees in Sociology (B.A.) and Physiology (B.S.) from the University of Arizona. As an avid gym rat, she can be found at the gym most mornings or spending time with her fur baby on the Oregon coast.
