The purpose of this form is to assist you in filing a grievance under the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), The Rehabilitation Act or Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VI). The ADA and the Rehabilitation Act prohibit discrimination based on disability. Title VI prohibits discrimination based on race, color or national origin. Other laws prohibit discrimination based on sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion and source of income. You may file a grievance against the County, a County contractor, a subcontractor on a County public works project or any other County sub-recipient of federal funds.
All grievances must be filed within 180 days of the occurrence of the alleged act. Except as further provided herein, any grievance filed more than 180 days after the occurrence of the alleged act shall be deemed legally insufficient and dismissed. The Civil Rights Administrator may accept a grievance filed more than 180 days after the date of the alleged act, if, in the Administrator’s sole discretion, it is determined that there is good cause for delay, and that such delay does not jeopardize the ability to address or investigate the alleged act.
If you think Multnomah County has discriminated against you because of your race, color, national origin, disability, religion, age, sex/gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, veteran status, source of income, or any other basis prohibited by federal, state, or local law, please tell us immediately.
