Event description

Join us for a family-friendly fishing outing on the Willamette River at Cathedral Park. You'll learn about fishing, and which fish are okay and not okay to eat from the river.

If you’re new to fishing, this is a great way to try it. Fishing experts will be there to help, and we’ll have limited loaner gear available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Win prizes for biggest carp, most fish, youngest fisher to catch a fish and more!

Everyone welcome. No registration, just show up.

Offered in partnership with the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife, Oregon Health Authority and Get Hooked.

What to Bring

  • Your own pole and tackle (limited loaner gear available)
  • Fishing license for ages 12+
  • Life jackets advised for children and non-swimmers
  • Picnic lunch

Cost

A fishing license is required for everyone 12 years old and up.  

The license fee may be waived for youth 17 and under if they participate in a short educational activity led by ODFW before fishing.

Directions

Ride the bus to Cathedral Park and follow the path towards the river to the dock. 

There's also free parking or you can bike there.
