Application in the field: Reframing Messages During Supervision Orientation

Learn how we revised our orientation materials to better align with best practices.

This report documents an application of the Multnomah County Equity Lens that occurred during the Smart Supervision Grant. A critical analysis was conducted on the message and materials experienced by new probationers and parolees through orientation. Over the course of six meetings, improvements to the orientation presentation slides were made by convening a workgroup consisting of Community Justice managers, adult probation officers, community corrections staff, and an Equity and Inclusion specialist.
