Happy 10 Year Anniversary to College to County!

Our College to County (C2C) program is celebrating its 10 anniversary. Hear from C2C Alum Alex Perez on the impact of an internship.

Our College to County (C2C) program is celebrating its 10 anniversary. In 2011, C2C started with 4 interns and has now grown to 54 interns during the summer of 2021 across all departments. Over 200 students have participated and over 30 students are regular status Multnomah County employees. There is an enormous demand for providing job experiences in our community. Working with our community partnerships, we had 260 applications this year.

C2C Mentorship program provides internships for college students of underrepresented communities at Multnomah County. The program holds a special emphasis on the recruitment and mentorship of promising college students to perform work on county projects. The internship assists the students' understanding of the pathways to employment and leadership in various county careers. Our program honors and advances the County’s commitment to diversifying our workforce, as we incorporated it into our Workforce Equity Strategic Plan

as the signature workforce pipeline and recruitment program.
