**Update: The original version of this release stated 130 animals were seized from the Northeast Portland Rescue and Boarding Facility. Now that all animals have been transported to the Multnomah County Animal Shelter in Troutdale, MCAS has updated the count of animals to 117 with 65 cats and 52 dogs seized from Woofin Palooza.
PORTLAND, Ore. — Multnomah County Animal Services (MCAS), in coordination with Portland Police Bureau and the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, executed a search warrant in the 2300 block of Northeast 82nd Avenue on Tuesday, August 11, 2020.
After receiving numerous complaints alleging possible animal abuse or neglect, and performing an initial investigation to determine the state and condition of animals on site, MCAS officers seized approximately 65 cats and 52 dogs from Woofin Palooza. A forensic veterinary team from Oregon Humane Society (OHS) was also on the scene to assist with medical triage of the animals. The animals — which are part of an on-going investigation — were taken into the care of Multnomah County Animal Services. Several animals are being treated by the Multnomah County Animal Services Veterinarian Team.
The case has been referred to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office. Due to the on-going nature of the investigation, no additional information can be released.
