Multnomah County is closely following public health guidance to ensure the safety of everyone in corrections facilities. Corrections Health has notified the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office that an adult in custody has tested positive for COVID-19. Public health officials confirmed that the person had no identified contact with staff or adults who are detained and that no additional action is indicated.

“We have developed and continue to refine our processes designed to best protect the health and safety of our employees, the adults in custody in our care, our workplaces and community. We will continue to be diligent in our efforts to avoid potential exposure in the jail setting,”  said Dr. Michael Seale, Corrections Health Director.

“Since the onset of COVID-19, we, along with Corrections Health have taken significant measures to reduce the spread of the virus in corrections facilities,” Sheriff Mike Reese said. “This continues to be a challenging time, and I deeply appreciate everyone’s concern for this individual.’’
