Multnomah County Sheriff's Office COVID-19 Update

December 15, 2020

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office continues to proactively monitor and aggressively address any positive COVID-19 cases within our staff and the adults in custody under our care.

To date, while some people who tested positive for the virus have been identified at booking, no adults in custody have tested positive for the virus while housed in an Multnomah County Sheriff's Office facility.

Since the beginning of this pandemic in early 2020, there have been 25 known staff positive COVID-19 cases. These cases occurred among a current staff of more than 800 people working across eight separate work sites. Public Health continues to believe that these 25 cases over the last nine months are not spreading as a result of employee site exposure but through contact outside work with friends, family, or other positive cases within the community. Public Health has not identified any close contact between affected staff with adults in custody.
