Last month, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office proposed a reduction in facility security officers at the East County Courthouse as part of a cost-saving measure. The Circuit Courts responded with a proposed reduction in court services.
Multnomah County Chair Deborah Kafoury announced today that the proposed facility security reduction is not moving forward at the current time.
The Chair is working with the Board of County Commissioners, the Oregon Judicial Department and the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office to take a closer look at the proposed changes, including potential community impact and data on staffing and court utilization.
