Traffic changes for July 4th events

July 3, 2019

Some Multnomah County roads and one bridge will be impacted by community events on the July 4 holiday.

Sauvie Island: Several roads will have lane closures on Thursday, July 4 from 6:30 am to 12:30 pm during the Foot Traffic Flat running events to benefit the Sauvie Island Fire District. Sections of NW Sauvie Island Road, NW Charlton Road, NW Reeder Road and NW Gillihan Road will be closed to traffic one-way, so that runners can use the closed lane. The circle route will remain open to traffic in a clockwise direction. Runners run in the inside of the circle; motor vehicle traffic uses the outside lane. The event website is: https://foottraffic.us/flat/

Hawthorne Bridge: The westbound center lane of the Hawthorne Bridge will be closed from 7 pm on Wednesday, July 3 until as late as 5 am on Monday, July 8. The lane closure is needed for public safety during the Waterfront Blues Festival. The event website is: http://www.waterfrontbluesfest.com/
