Multnomah County has proposed to increase to health license fees by 6.5% in 2027. The new fees would apply to all:

  • Food service businesses
  • Lodgings
  • Pools and spas
  • Child care facilities

The increase must be approved by the Board of Commissioners.

The county is also reviewing plans to raise fees tobacco retail license fees»

Why Now?

State law requires Multnomah County to license and regularly inspect all businesses that handle food, provide lodging and operate pools. They also require us to cover these costs completely through license fees.

License fees increase 5-7 % each year to cover these necessary program costs.

What’s Next

If approved, the new fees will take effect January 1, 2027. We will post the new fees to our website when they’ve been finalized.
