Expect delays on Morrison Bridge for westbound overnight closures

TRAFFIC ALERT: Starting Wednesday, Jan. 14, through Monday, Jan.19 between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. each night, multiple westbound lanes will be closed on the Morrison Bridge. Crews will be continuing work on joint and deck pothole repairs. One westbound lane will remain open at all times during this work. Detour signs will be in place directing traffic.

Plan ahead for your commute and use alternative routes

This work is part of the Morrison Bridge Strengthening Project. The project is adding titanium rebar to strengthen the S.E. Morrison Street and S.E. Belmont Street approach ramps on the east side of the Morrison Bridge. This will remove the weight restrictions that prevent heavy trucks from using the bridge and keep it safe for modern freight trucks and other vehicles to cross. Crews will also repair the bearings and motors that lift and lower the bridge lift span. These updates will keep the bridge in good working order.
