Medical Examiner's investigation complete in Thanksgiving Day death

The Multnomah County Medical Examiner on Monday released the cause of death in a man who died in custody on Thanksgiving Day.

The ME found that Richard A. Barry, 52, died Nov. 22, 2018 from acute Methamphetamine and Cocaine toxicity. The death was ruled an accident.

Barry died at a hospital, after being taken into custody by officers serving Portland State University. The full medical report will not be released, as this death was not related to officer involvement.
