Let us introduce you to Multnomah County’s new worldwide “reality star.”
His name is “Sir Stuffington” and he’s a kitten who was brought in off the streets to Multnomah County’s Animal Services shelter on Sept. 13 with two of his siblings. All three kittens had physical problems; among Sir Stuffington’s problems were a disfigured jaw and the loss of one eye.
Happily, the plucky trio received both excellent treatment for their ailments and an incredible foster parent in Blazer Schaeffer, who established a Facebook page for Sir Stuffington that as of Monday afternoon had more than 28,000 “likes.”
The feline phenom proves two things:
1) Animal Services could not do the great work it does without the strong support of foster parents in the community. (To learn how to be a foster parent for an animal in need, please click here.)
2) Everybody loves a happy story, as evidenced by the fact that Sir Stuffington’s saga has been picked up nationally and internationally by Gawker, CNN, Daily Mail, The Huffington Post, Mother Jones as well as locally by The Oregonian, Willamette Week, KOIN, KGW, KPTV and KEX.
Professional photos of Sir Stuffington are also available with proceeds benefitting Multnomah County Animal Services' Dolly's Fund, a special donation fund that helps pay for extra medical care for animals that require it.
