Multnomah County, Ore (Jan. 20, 2025) — Just before 2 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, suspects threw rocks through multiple windows at the Multnomah County Duniway-Lovejoy Elections Building, causing no apparent damage inside beyond broken glass.
The suspects also tagged the building with graffiti and left before Portland police arrived.
Nobody was in the building at the time of the incident. The building, at 1040 S.E. Morrison St., is closed today, alongside most County operations, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The County’s security operations team is coordinating with the Portland Police Bureau, which is investigating the incident.
As of 9 a.m., all damaged windows have been boarded up, with all glass cleaned up inside. Security is elevated, and the building will reopen for normal operations tomorrow.
