TRAFFIC ALERT: Multnomah County Transportation Division has closed part of N.W. Kaiser Road in Portland because of high water.
The closure applies to N.W. Kaiser Road between N.W. Germantown Road and N.W. Ridgeline Street.
Crews say the culvert beneath the road is at capacity amid ongoing rain, with water now pooling on the road itself. High water poses a danger for drivers, particularly when it’s moving — Transportation officials strongly warn against attempting to cross it. High water can carry or damage vehicles, and high water can also cause damage to the roadway itself.
There is no timeline at this point for when this portion of N.W. Kaiser Road will reopen.
Multnomah County maintains 269 miles of roads. For information, visit: https://www.multco.us/roads.
