Breast milk is your baby's best first food. The World Health Organization recommends breastfeeding for at least the first 1-2 years of your child’s life. Breastfeeding has lifelong health benefits for the nursing parent and baby.
Families that receive help and encouragement with breastfeeding are more likely to keep it going.
WIC can help you get ready to breastfeed and support you along the way. We work with you to meet your goals for feeding your baby.
Breastfeeding Support Groups
Virtual groups led by trained WIC parents who breastfed their own children. Get advice during pregnancy until your baby is 6-12 months old.
Learn how to overcome common breastfeeding challenges and discover the rewards. Connect with other parents and share moments in your pregnancy and parenting. You choose the group that's best for you—by similar due date, or cultural background.
You’ll also learn:
- Amazing things about your body and baby
- Ways to keep your relationships healthy after baby is born
- Practices in the hospital that can help or hurt early bonding with your baby
- Infant massage
