Her work here at DCJ included leading the agency’s change brought about by health care transformation, resulting in expanded treatment services and recovery supports for DCJ clients. She also worked to align resources to carry out DCJ’s strategic plan, and brought a focus on continuous quality improvement. As a department that strives to base our work in evidence-based practice, her understanding of programs and the importance to data were key to help track our progress. As she was often heard saying “If you can't measure it you can't manage it”. Her quiet leadership served our department and Multnomah County well and many of her contributions will be evident long after she departs.
Director Scott Taylor, who has worked with Ginger for over 20 years, came to rely on both her knowledge and temperament to help move the department forward. “Ginger helped us understand what it means to be a data driven organization. I will miss her key insights and of course, her laughter.”
Truls Neal, who has been the Assistant Director of the Adult Services Division since 2013, will become DCJ’s Deputy Director. He admits he has big shoes to fill but is looking forward to taking on this new role.
